LUMEN treats cinema as artwork hung on a pure white wall. We borrow the restraint of the contemporary art gallery — its daylight, its breathing space, its thin frames — and let the films themselves become the only color in the room. Every poster is a painting, every still is a frame, every review is a wall tag quietly inviting you to look closer.
The Main Exhibit Wall
Our homepage opens with six floating white frames, each holding a film poster cropped to its native ratio. Hover a frame and a soft caption slides from beneath it — the title, the room, the year — while the image slowly returns to full color. Click and you step inside the work itself.
The Fluid Exhibition Hall
Beneath the wall, the hall unfolds as a sequence of differently shaped cards: wide feature panels with text laid over cinematic stills, square mood frames that breathe inward when you approach, standard review cards pairing image and prose, and compact quick-note dispatches from the projection desk. Empty slots wait quietly for upcoming works.
The Wall Tags & Guestbook
The sidebar is a wall of hanging tags — small portraits of the most viewed works — alongside a visitor guestbook written in quiet italics on lined paper. Light a star to leave your rating; small gold particles drift upward in thanks. A breathing dot at the bottom tells you how many others are quietly reading alongside you.
The Information Desk
The footer is a gallery information desk. A membership card waits to be filled — when you subscribe, the card flips and confirms your seat on the wall. As you reach the bottom of the page, a small arrow in the corner offers a quiet bow: thank you for visiting, and we will see you at the next hanging.
